They Deign to Live With Me...

...the least I can do is make a webpage for them.

Yes, at the risk of looking like a crazy cat lady, or doing the annoying "Look at the cute pictures of these little beings I take care of" thing... let there be cats!

Her royal majesty, Falala

My first cat. Her name means "joy". I adopted her from the Dane County Humane Society in August 2002, a few months after moving to the Madison. She was a stray, and she'd been rescued after being shot by an evil man for no good reason, soon after having a litter of kittens. The Humane Society is still trying to prosecute him for cruelty to animals, but so far the trial keeps being postponed.

She also has a front paw that must have been broken at some point and was never set, so she has a crook in her leg. Poor kitty! The world was a hard place before she came to live at Chez Tabetha.

Then there's Zumu...

Zu turnsa his back...

Zumu means "friend". I got him to be a friend to Lala (though that's not why I named him that). He's a bit roudy, and he's been having some urinary track issues... don't you love cats?

Peekaboo!

On the other hand, he's incredibly handsome and has the most powerful purring motor I've ever heard. When he's not tearing around the place or terrorizing Lala, I'm putty in his paws.
